Dr. Kareem Kamel, MSC, MD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery in Ain Shams University. He is among the leading bariatric surgeons and weight loss experts in the Middle East. He is a Consultant Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgeon. He is a graduate of Ain Shams University with honors, where he received his residency training in General Surgery. He finished his Masters Degree (Msc.) with honors after which he traveled to the United States where he received surgical training for Laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Kareem Kamel completed his higher studies by acquiring the Medical Doctorate Degree in General Surgery Specializing in Colorectal Surgery. He is currently the manager of the Colorectal Unit at ASU, and chief of the Laparoscopic surgery unit.

His areas of expertise are Surgical Oncology especially management by laparoscopy, Bariatric (obesity surgery) in all its types, and many other Laparoscopic procedures.
